UK Government Finally Admits Swine Flu Vaccine Triggers NarcolepsyThe British government is finally reversing its stance on the swine flu vaccine in light of overwhelming evidence that the shot can trigger the sleeping disorder narcolepsy in children.
During the 2009 swine flu pandemic, GlaxoSmithKline’s Pandemrix vaccine — the jab designed for pandemics specifically — was given to everyone who would take it in the U.K., including high-risks groups such as people with heart disease and children. Now a
study by the Health Protection Agency which focused specifically on Pandemrix taken by children ages four through 18 found one in every 55,000 shots caused narcolepsy, a sleep disorder that triggers random sleep disruption, nightmares, hallucinations, sleep paralysis and excessive sleepiness that together can pretty much wreck a person’s life.
The British government is a tad late, however; earlier this year,
Reuters reported that some 800 children throughout Europe actually fell victim to narcolepsy after taking this swine flu shot. The news outlet profiled one such child’s suffering:

- Emelie Olsson is plagued by hallucinations and nightmares. When she wakes up, she’s often paralyzed, unable to breathe properly or call for help. During the day she can barely stay awake, and often misses school or having fun with friends. She is only 14, but at times she has wondered if her life is worth living.
Researchers involved in the Health Protection Agency study noted the link between Pandemrix and narcolepsy was first discovered in Scandinavian countries, with a 13-fold increase of narcolepsy in Finnish children.
According to the British government’s official statement via
The Guardian:
- Quote :
- “The decision to recommend that children got this vaccine during the flu pandemic was based on evidence available at the time, along with the advice from the European Medicines Agency which approved its use. We keep all emerging evidence under review and that’s why use of Pandemrix in those less than 20 years old was stopped in the UK in 2011.”
The Guardian continues:
- Quote :
- The welfare minister, Iain Duncan Smith, will announce the reversal in October, according to a letter seen by the Guardian. “It has been accepted that, on the balance of probability, vaccination has contributed to… disablement,” the letter says.
The Pandemrix vaccine
patient leaflet lists among the ingredients the adjuvant AS03, or squalene, and the preservative polysorbate 80.
Squalene has been shown in studies to cause rheumatoid arthritis in lab rats. Squalene was also an unapproved ingredient in anthrax vaccines tested on U.S. military personnel during the Gulf War, and it has since been linked to all manner of auto-immune disorders suffered by the Gulf War veterans.
Polysorbate 80 has been known to cause anaphylactic shock due to immune system suppression.
The two ingredients together are nothing short of a potential catastrophe waiting to happen inside someone’s body, especially if they are already immune-compromised before they get the shot.
