Seattle 6th Graders Get Birth Control Implants Without Parental ConsentJoshua Krause

You would think that parents would have the final say over their children’s health, but in America, that’s simply not the case anymore. The government has its own agenda for your kids, and if you don’t like it, tough. They’re not really your kids anymore. They belong to the state.
Especially if you live in Seattle, Washington. CNS news recently reported that
13 school clinics in Seattle offer free birth control implants to their students, such as IUDs. What’s more alarming though, is the fact that these implants can be given without informing the parents of any child who is in at least 6th grade. CNS news spoke to a member of the “Take Charge” program, which is responsible for providing family planning services for residents of Washington: “A student who does not want their parents to know they are seeking reproductive health services is allowed to apply for
Take Charge using their own income, and if they are insured under their parents’ plan, the insurance would not be billed.” Birth control is provided free of charge for students of families in lower-income brackets.
What’s truly frightening about this is that birth control implants, like any medical procedure, often come with complications. If a child doesn’t want her parents to know that she’s on birth control, will she inform her parents of any complications she’s having? CNS news also noted the insanity of the situation in Seattle schools. Kids aren’t allowed to
buy sodas on campus, but apparently they’re old enough to consent to a medical procedure. Nanny state knows best!
